Public Complex School in Reptów

Commune Kobylanka is situated on Szczecin Lowland on the southern edge of Goleniów Forest and the northern limit of Lake Miedwie. The commune occupies 12205 square kilometers, and has got  the population of 3706 people.

The scenery of the area is really beautiful with its picturesque woods rich in game and dense undergrowth, and attractive Lake Miedwie with the sports and recreational centre in the vicinity of the villages Morzyczyn and Zieleniewo. Despite its numerous bathing beaches the lake is known for catches of eels, pike, perch , bream, European whitefishes and noble lavarets. According to traditionthe last - mentioned species was brought from Italy at the end of the 12 th century by abbot Bruno who consolidated Christianity in West Pomerania. In 1460, currently on the ground of the village Kobylanka, the linden - tee was planted in token on Peace signed between the towns Szczecin and Stargard. Scince 1997 the historic linden called the Wreatch of Harmony as well as a noble lavaret have beenthe crest of Commune Kobylanka. These nature elements of the crest show that the community is really interested in environmental protection.

The local authority allocate a big sum of money to the development of the green areas nearby the schools in  Kunowo, Kobylanka and Reptowo.

To prevent inhabitants from changing the surrounding wood into an accidental landfill site the autority have entered into an agreement of dumping with the Szczecin - based firm Remondis. Old boiler houses in public buildings are modernized to improve air quality, e.g. in the School in Reptowo an gass - fired central heating is constructed.

Tanks to the localautority involvementthere is wonderful school in Reptowo. The school buildings are surrounded with lawns, shrubs and trees planted under the forester s, Ms Anna Liśkiewicz supervision. The School Circle of League for Nature Conservation won the first prize in Szczecin province competition for the best working circles LOP.

Twice a year, in spring and autumn they clean neighbouring woods and roads, take part in World Cleaning Action. Their operatins are written down in Reports of Our Earth Fundation. Every year the pupils have organized Kennel Campaign. Members of the League moved farm to farm and checked dogs living conditions.

As a result of the campaign the inhabitants of Reptowo, Cisewo and Niedźwiedź insulated their animals kennels against frost. Every year the children gather horse chestnuts, acorns and beechmast - nuts as winter feed for game. Last year they gather 600- 1200 kg of feed.

There is organized the plastic arts green competition called Ecofellow aimed at chldren from the I - III froms, snd the knowledge about competition called "What is wood?" for elder pupils.

Varied competitions are also organized by:

- Head Administration of League for Nature Conservation: "My wood" for the best Circle of the League

- Management of Ińsko and Szczecin Landscape Park: "Do you know Szczecin Landscape Park?"

- Local Departament of Education: Biology Cotest at a region level

- Forestry Management Kliniska: "Wood our natural resources"

Pupils visit Forester Management Cisewo, Kliniska, peat boogs and Lake Miedwie beaches. They take care of lawns, bushes and trees, keep a watch and do fild studies.
