SCHOOLS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMME

The Schools for Sustainable Development(SSD) is a programme open to schools and communities in the United Kingdom, Poland and the Czech Republic. The programme aims to promote Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and local community environmental action. It gives people the opportunity to make improvements in their neighbourhood and create improvements for the whole community to enjoy.

The programme helps people to change their environment for the better by providing funding and support. Grants are available to fund projects that improve community spaces. For example improving a run down playground, creating a community garden or getting involved in heritage projects.

The schools for sustainable development programme is funded by Toyota delivered by Groundwork in the United Kingdom, The Polish Environmental Foundation and Ecological Foundation ‘Green Action’ in Poland and Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation and Centre for Environmental Education SEVER in the Czech Republic.
